Today’s show is a great discussion with Chris Travis, owner of Travis Electrical Service, along with his Service Manager, Reagan Thomas. Travis Electrical Service is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, about an hour to the northwest of Nashville. Chris started the company originally as a side hustle; he was a firefighter looking for a way to make a few extra dollars on his days off. By 2010, this little side hustle turned into a full-fledged business, and Chris made it his primary vocation. Now, at that time, Travis Electrical Service was only doing commercial and industrial work… Until Chris got tired of turning away residential calls. Fast forward to 2015, he joined SGI. And fast forward a little further to around 2017, he hired Reagan, after she was recommended to him by Jon Polizzi, fellow SGI member and friends of the show, from Home Service Heroes. Over the last several years, with Chris and Reagan, and their fantastic team, Travis Electrical Service’s residential division has skyrocketed. I should add the commercial/industrial side of Travis Electrical is doing very well, too. Their service division finished 2021 at $1.56 million with a 60% gross margin and 16.7% net profit. Chris and Reagan passionately believe this is just the beginning of their success.
